This is brilliant!
‘First World Problems’ Read By Third World People
In a new ad campaign by charitable organization Water is Life, it features poverty-stricken Haitian children and adults reading out the everyday gripes and minor irritations that people post on Twitter with the hashtag, #FirstWorldProblems.
Called ‘First World Problems Anthem’, the video features everyday complaints like “I hate it when my leather seats aren’t heated” and “I hate it when my neighbors block their Wi-Fi” read by the less fortunate Haitians—highlighting the contrast between real-life problems and first-world problems.
Produced by ad agency DDB NY, the campaign aims to raise awareness of the organization’s efforts to provide clean drinkable water to countries like India and Haiti.
According to the video’s description, the concept behind the video is to eliminate—rather than promote a trending hashtag.
